The Shingo Institute Welcomes Blom Consultancy as a New Provider of Shingo Workshops

Summary: Shingo Licensed Affiliates are private companies who contract with the Shingo Institute to teach Shingo Workshops to groups and individuals. Blom Consultancy has just contracted to become the newest Shingo Licensed Affiliate.

Logan, Utah — The Shingo Institute, a program of the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University, has partnered with Blom Consultancy of the Netherlands. The partnership means that Blom Consultancy will teach the Shingo workshops to groups and individuals interested in improving the culture of their organizations to improve efficiency, working conditions, and value. Additionally, Blom Consultancy will work with their clients to enhance their business using the Shingo Guiding Principles™.

Shingo Institute Executive Director Ken Snyder said, “Blom Consultancy is an extraordinarily good match for the Shingo Institute because the Japanese concept of monozukuri, which Blom Consultancy has been teaching for many years, aligns so closely to the Shingo Guiding Principles. We’re excited to work with them.”

About Blom Consultancy

Blom Consultancy has been helping companies achieve better results for more than 25 years with a vision for the Dutch manufacturing industry to continue to measure itself against the best in the world through continuous improvement. The core of what Blom offers is the Monozukuri: Lean to Flow philosophy, which connects people and processes with focus on producing products and services with pride, skill and dedication.

Blom consultants, trainers and interim managers work through both the technical and social systems in an organization’s flow by using a practical approach for employees to learn to develop flow in processes, their own competencies and teams. In doing so, Blom has created sustainable (productivity) results in multiple organizations and sectors.

About the Shingo Institute

The Shingo Institute administers the Shingo Prize, an award that recognizes organizations that demonstrate an exceptional culture that fosters continuous improvement. A program of the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University, the Shingo Institute is named after Japanese industrial engineer and Toyota advisor, Shigeo Shingo. Dr. Shingo distinguished himself as one of the world’s thought leaders in the concepts, systems and improvement techniques that have become known as the Toyota Production System (TPS).

Drawing from Dr. Shingo’s teachings and years of experience working with organizations worldwide, the Shingo Institute developed the Shingo Model™, which is the basis for its educational offerings, including workshops, study tours and conferences. Workshops are available in multiple languages through the Institute’s licensed affiliates, including Blom Consultancy.
