Peter Barnett is a seasoned professional with 30 years of expertise guiding teams across all aspects of business operations and continuous improvement. He has a proven track record of crafting and executing strategies that improve customer service, drive revenue growth, and increase profitability in various industries, including insurance, banking, aerospace, and chemicals. Peter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, a Master of Business Administration, and Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification.

In 2024, Peter joined the Shingo Institute and is currently focused on improving the Shingo Model curriculum, workshops, and the teaching effectiveness of the Institute's licensed affiliates worldwide.

Prior to his current role as the Director of Executive Education at the Shingo Institute, Peter served as a Lean Executive Coach at Discover Financial Services, where he mentored business executives and Lean/Agile practitioners to improve operational effectiveness and align business and technology to deliver customer value. He also contributed to Liberty Mutual Insurance's global Lean transformation as a Lean Architect and Director of the Continuous Improvement and Methodology team. Before that, he led a nationwide Lean transformation effort at Ensign-Bickford Industries, where he held various leadership positions, including Lean Office Leader and General Manager.

Peter currently serves as a lead examiner at the Shingo Institute, where he leads and participates in assessments of organizations spanning manufacturing, healthcare, automotive, military, and food processing industries across several countries.
