Shingo Scholars are the student leaders of the Shingo Student Center. These exceptional individuals play a pivotal role in shaping the Center’s mission, activities, and direction. Acting as the driving force behind the Center’s success, Shingo Scholars take ownership of key systems, monitor behaviors and outcomes across the Center’s stakeholders, and embody the principles of operational excellence.
As leaders of the Shingo Student Club, Shingo Scholars are responsible for recruiting new members, promoting the Center’s activities, and advancing its reputation within the Huntsman School of Business and beyond. They work closely with faculty, sponsors, and industry professionals to design and manage impactful events, coordinate guest speakers, engage sponsors, and ultimately drive the strategic direction of the Center and its initiatives.

Qualifications
Shingo Scholars are chosen through a competitive application process during the spring semester for the following academic year. To be eligible for the Shingo Scholars Recognition Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Academic Standing: A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Coursework: Completion of MGT 3700 (Operations Management) or enrollment in the course during the fall semester of their admission year.
- Open to All Majors and Minors

The 2025 Shingo Scholars are recipients of a scholarship funded by the Ross Robson Scholarship Endowment, established in honor of Dr. Ross Robson—a former USU Operations Management professor and the inaugural executive director of the Shingo Institute. This scholarship recognizes and supports students who are committed to advancing operational excellence.
